5k Fun Run/Walk
The 5k route takes in the inspiring woodland surroundings of Hestercombe, and although it is a cross- country course it is fun to tackle. It’s perfect for people thinking about entering a10k run but looking for something smaller to build their confidence.
2k Fun Run/Walk
The 2k fun run is brilliant fun for kids and families. Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult. For those who prefer a slower pace and wish to walk, the event is a great opportunity to make the most of the peaceful woodland and lake views.
Event Organiser Emma Warr says the Hestercombe Woodland Wander combines fun, fitness and the great outdoors which offers a perfect family morning out in an iconic Somerset setting: “1610 aims to inspire local families to get fit and have some fun and where better to do that by exploring one of Somerset’s most famous landmarks. You don’t have to be super fit, it’s about enjoying exercise with family and friends at whatever age in an inspiring location.”
The Cafe at Hestercombe Gardens will be open from 9.00am selling cakes and hot drinks. There is free car parking available and registration opens at 8.30am and the race starts at 9.30am. As both runs are cross country sturdy trainers are recommended.
The Hestercombe Woodland Wander is part of the 1610 Race Series consisting of three 10k races located across the counties of Somerset and Dorset.
